Athens County Reentry Task Force
Helping Athens County returning citizens achieve self-sufficiency and independence

Formed in 2009, the Athens County Reentry Task Force is made up of community partners who are working together to assist returning citizens Group - bubbles - Copyrenew their independence and assist in their transition back into society.  The Athens County Task Force recognizes the need for a coordinated approach geared toward building and supporting a range of collaborative community programs to address the barriers to self-sufficiency in an effort to reduce crime, recidivism and improve public safety.

Should returning citizens not receive assistance with their circumstances, they face situations such as insufficient financial, medical and housing support.  Many may fall back into the same difficulties and problems that led them to incarceration. Reentry programming can positively impact the futures of these returning citizens and their families, reducing the fiscal and social costs to Athens County and society and helps these individuals get their lives back on track.
